Andrew the Superhero |
Alex’s Superhero Fund was pleased to provide financial assistance to the Bergen County family of Andrew, age 16. Andrew was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the age of 16. The financial cost of Andrew’s medical expenses exceeded his family’s income. |

Naeemah the Superhero |
Alex’s Superhero Fund was also able to provide a helping hand to the mother of Middlesex County resident Naeemah, age 4. At the age of 2, Naeemah was diagnosed with leukemia. Naeemah has undergone two bone marrow transplants and, as a result, his mom has lost time and income from work. She has incurred significant medical expenses because of Naeemah’s continued close monitoring and care. |

Olivia the Superhero |
Alex’s Superhero Fund made a financial donation to the family of Olivia, age 14, and a resident of Essex County. At birth, Olivia was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia and recently received a bone marrow transplant. Her father is currently on an unpaid family medical leave in order to care for his daughter. |

Alex’s Superhero Fund was incredibly happy to provide financial assistance to the single mother of Giordan, age 4. Giordan is a Hudson County residence and was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 4. Giordan’s mom has two other children and is currently unemployed, but studying nursing full time. She hopes to obtain her nursing license in order to support her family. |

Alex’s Superhero Fund made a donation to the Hudson County family of Alejandra, age 18. Alejandra was recently diagnosed with bone cancer at age 17. Because of Alejandra’s medical needs, her mother is unable to work and as a result the family is struggling financially, unable to pay household bills. |

Alex’s Superhero Fund was happy to provide a helping hand to the New York family of Joshua, age 2, diagnosed last year with Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome. Joshua has undergone a bone marrow transplant because of his condition and continues to receive close monitoring and care. His parents lost time and income from work due to Joshua’s medical condition. They are in financial need as a result. |

Alex’s Superhero Fund provided financial support to the mother of Bergen County child, Ariana, age 14. At age 13, Ariana was diagnosed with leukemia. Her mother is the single head of the household and was forced to take an indefinite leave from work because of Ariana’s medical needs. She is struggling financially and we were glad to give her a donation. |

Alex’s Superhero Fund was pleased to provide financial assistance to the Bergen County family of Camila, age 11. Camila was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 9 and had a relapse in 2008. Because of Camila’s medical demands, her parents permanently lost one income and needed a helping hand. We were more than happy to provide that to this family. |

Alex’s Superhero Fund was also able to provide a helping hand to the mother of Hudson County resident, Danny, age 18. At the age of 17, Danny was diagnosed with brain cancer. Danny’s mom is a single mom and lost her income due to Danny’s medical demands. |

Alex’s Superhero Fund made a financial donation to the single mother of Vanessa, age 12, and a resident of Hudson County. In 2009, Vanessa was diagnosed with leukemia. Her mother was forced to quit her job to be there for her daughter’s treatment. We were thrilled to be able to help Vanessa’s mom with her daily expenses. |

Alex’s Superhero Fund was incredibly happy to provide financial assistance to the single mother of Sidney, age 5. Sidney is a Union County resident and was diagnosed with stomach cancer at the age of 4. Sidney’s mom is unable to work due to Sidney’s medical needs. We were thrilled to be able to give Sidney’s mom some financial breathing room for a while. |

Alex’s Superhero Fund made a donation to the Passaic County family of Christopher, age 3. Christopher was recently diagnosed with cancer of the leg. Because of their type of insurance, Christopher’s family must pay extremely high co-payments every time their child enters the clinic for treatment, which includes chemotherapy, radiation and physical therapy. We are very familiar with how costly co-payments can be for a child in treatment… even with good insurance coverage. |

Alex’s Superhero Fund was happy to provide a helping hand to the New York family of Malka, age 16, diagnosed last year with Hodgkins Disease. Malka’s parents lost quite a bit of income during Malka’s treatment. We are so happy to be able to help this family. |

Alex’s Superhero Fund provided financial support for a household bill to the Passaic County Family of Kimberly, diagnosed with leukemia in 2008. Sadly, Kimberly lost her battle with cancer in April, 2009. As we also lost our son, our hearts go out to this family and hope that our donation can ease their burden a bit. |

Alex’s Superhero Fund was very happy to pay the utility bill for the Passaic County family of Oscar, age 21. At the age of 17 Oscar was diagnosed with Leukemia and is currently dealing with a relapse of the disease. Oscar is in treatment at the Tomorrow’s Children Institute part of Hackensack University Medical Center. |

Alex’s Superhero Fund provided assistance to the Passaic County Family of Clara Perez, age 17. Clara was diagnosed with pilocytic astrocytoma (brain tumor) at the age of 16. Clara fell and broke her ankle and needed a wheelchair. ASF is currently paying for the cost of that wheelchair as long as Clara needs. Clara is in treatment at St. Joseph’s Pediatric Oncology Center and as you can see from her photo, Clara is a beautiful teen!
